The Association for Computer Aided Design in Architecture is an international network of digital design researchers and professionals. We facilitate critical investigations into the role of computation in architecture, planning, and building science, encouraging innovation in design creativity, sustainability, and education.
Designing Change
ACADIA 2024, themed “Designing Change,” looks at digital design as an active agent of change in the built environment. Designing Change invites a variety of submissions encompassing recent research, practice, and theory. This call seeks scholarly, practice-based research and hands-on applications that demonstrate the transformative impact of digital design to redefining ways of living, working and existing together at various scales—from master planning, buildings, pavilions to the micro and nano. As digital design evolves from theoretical concepts to practical implementations, it redefines traditional architectural practices and introduces new operational modes in both physical world and new realities.
The 2024 ACADIA conference was hosted by the University of Calgary School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape and held at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. The conference featured peer-reviewed and curated content, as well as keynotes, panel discussions, and other exciting events to bring together our community.
